Today I want to share with you my annual State of the Heart Address.
Last year, I made a vow to myself that no matter what happened, I would make a choice to wrap myself up in a Love Bubble. My Love Bubble has been a tremendous eye opener. It has opened my eyes to blessings that I wasn’t able to see before. My Love Bubble has literally changed my life, world, and spirit.
So this Valentine’s Day is unlike any other. I have a greater appreciation for myself and everything in my life. During the darker moments of my life last year, the only thing that changed was my thinking. Through my thoughts, I thought myself a beautiful existence. Through my thoughts, I thought myself bigger than any circumstance. Through my thoughts, I thought myself as love and the desire to be a blessing to others. Lastly, through my thoughts, I thought myself blessed beyond measure! And today, I am all of these things, through my thoughts!
What is your State of the Heart report?
Life can be amazing on many levels. A few days ago, I was reminded of just how far I have come as a human being. I recalled many dark and traumatic places and times. Those times felt so real that I believed it was my only reality. Fast forward to years later, and I can see just how many negative circumstances that I successfully overcome.
My secrets to success have been my deep spirituality and surrounding myself with healthy and trustworthy people. I have learned to not only to spend quality time with God, but to listen to His voice and follow through. And just when I needed something the most, the right person(s) was always there. My loving and life saving support system.
Each life experience has helped to make me into the woman I am today. So in this moment is a woman grateful for her life and the ability to live it to the fullest! I am proud of me!
What have you overcome?
In the past few months, life has dealt me several hard blows. Earlier this year, I began seeking answers to questions like, “Who am I?”, “What purpose would I like my life to have?”, “What ways can I leave this earth better than what it is now?”
After a beautiful conversation with a friend, I realized, “I’m a fighter!” My down never means I’m out. My silence never means I’m weak. And most importantly, my tears usually mean that my soul is being cleansed.
A clean soul makes for a free spirit. A free spirit makes a happy heart. And a happy heart opens the way to a more balanced life.
How do you cope with stress?
Death of a loved one. Extreme stress. Tight deadlines. Mental exhaustion. Unfair expectations.
AND STILL I RISE!
What are your struggles?
Many of us have been in a place where we are so low that the only direction we can go is up.
Life has a way of pushing us up against a wall. Despite feeling hopeless, we actualy have
several options. We could either throw in the towel or begin to fight back. I am a fighter.
I have overcome challenges so difficult that I thought I would never survive. But in
those moments of feeling overpowered, I chose to fight back with my mind. As a survivor,
I now know that I can’t change anyone but myself. However, I can change the way I respond.
Even though life may be filled with challenges, I will choose to dream of the life that I deserve.
I deserve love, laughter, and joy. Most importantly, I deserve wonderful people in my life.
I will choose to be grateful for what I have right now and anticipate more blessings to come.
What are you grateful for?
Today, I received several phone calls from family and friends
telling me of their success. My heart was so overjoyed to hear
how people I love are being blessed in phenomenal ways. Then
I also realized that not one bit of jealousy existed. That made
me that much more excited. Sometimes when other people get the
things that we want, it can be difficult to handle. Being able to
express a genuine feeling of gratitude for what we have now, is
a sure way to begin receiving all the things you have ever dreamed
Gratitude puts you in a state of happiness. Once you are in a
happy place, you will draw wonderful things to you.
Is gratitude your attitude?
We attract to ourselves what we hold inside. Every circumstance,
every person, and every situation that we attract and experience is
based on what is inside of us. Could you ask for a more magnificent system than this?
Your life is a reflection of what you hold inside of you, and what you hold
inside you is always under your control.
Rhonda Byrne- The Secret
What do you hold inside of you?
Today I saw one of the most beautiful sights. I saw a young man believe that he was
bigger and greater than his circumstances. He became so lost in happiness, joy, and
positivity that he lost sight of the fact that he was a patient in a hospital. He lost sight
of human limitations and can’t do attitudes. For just a moment, he believed what his
inner voice told him. He became whole, excited, and at peace.
I again learned a valuable lesson today. I learned that I have been holding myself back
with my thinking. As with everything, there is a cause and effect. The cause was my
stinkin thinkin, and the effect were my dreams being delayed. Thank God for new
beginnings each day!
How has your thinking stopped your growth?
This morning I found myself enjoying the beauty in the simple things of life. A patient,
where I work, that suffers with a chronic mental illness taught me that no matter
the circumstance, there is joy to be experienced and shared. Now this patient has
bravely battled one struggle after another. At times, frustration and hopelessness
seemed to be her constant companions. But for a few moments, when a song began to
play, she was magically taken to a place where peace and joy became her new best
friends. The problems, worries, and frustrations no longer existed. Her smile was
brighter, she interacted with her peers, and most importantly, she was able to
see and feel herself living again.
To others it was just a song. To this wonderful lady it was a brilliant way to
reclaim something that had been missing for a long time. By allowing her light
to shine, she was able to shine on others.
Have you found your song?
In the game of poker, an Ace In the Hole means that one of the player’s down card is an ace. In the game of life it can mean a hidden strength or comfort. Sounds innocent enough, but depending on how well you use your ace determines how well you play the game.
I was talking to a dear friend the other day and she was telling me how she has pushed away alot of significant relationships in her life. She told me that being in a rocky marriage, rescuing adult children from their mistakes, health issues, and financial problems have all conspired to keep her from reaching out to her friends. Over a period of years, she has learned how to function without them. Guilt and shame were her primary reasons for not reaching up for help. Life is at a critical point, and she has found herself isolated, withdrawn, and totally disconnected from her power sources. After talking with her, she began to understand why keeping in close contact with her “”Ace In the Holes” on a regular basis is vital to her existance.
It is important that we have many healthy and solid friendships and activities to nourish our souls. They are the safety we need to weather life’s storms.
How many Aces do you have?
