Unsung Heroes

According to the United States Department of Defense’s website,

there are 1.7 million American children and youth under 18 with

a parent serving in the military and about 900,000 with one or

both parents deployed multiple times.

The month of April has been chosen to honor and celebrate America’s

unsung hereos, military children.

Everyday, military children bravely teach the world valuable lessons

of love, courage, sacrifice, and patience.

This month, we can all take a few moments of our lives and celebrate

 these young heroes.

Listed below are possible suggestions:

1.  Designate a special day at their school to honor military children and their families.

2. Encourage military children to create a display board showing pictures of them with their families.

3. Allow military children to form support groups or clubs that help to serve their schools, communities, and families.

Let’s all join together and show our military children how much we appreciate them.

In what ways can you serve our military children?
